Happy Birthday Ethan!

As I woke up early this morning, I woke up in a house with two kids ages ten and up! My second son, Ethan, has turned 10 today. I look back over the years at his life, and it brings a happiness to me that only a parent can feel.

Ethan was born on Superbowl weekend back in 2004. I had just changed jobs at Thanksgiving of 2003 and was working overtime to be off with the family at his birth. He popped out making noises and smiling. Ten years later, he still makes noises constantly and has a smile that will melt your heart. He received his first pair of glasses when he was eighteen months old. He then went from looking like a little kid to a shrunken adult. The baby fat of the little boy slowly went away and he has grown up into a fine lean young boy.

Happy Birthday Ethan

This past weekend he gave me the honor of being able to baptize him at our church. This was a tear jerking moment for many people and namely myself. There are many high points in the life of a daddy, and this one ranked way up there.

The boy has only asked for one thing for his birthday this year. It is one thing that his momma and I can not give or even have any control over getting for him. Snow. He asked for snow on his birthday! I am thankful to say that there is about 3 – 4 inches of snow on the ground today! I serve an Awesome God!

Happy Birthday Ethan! I love you boy! I am proud of the young boy you have become and I look forward to the young man you will be. Lastly, I got a snowball with your name on it today!

Till next time,
I’m just a Husband of a Homeschooling Mom,
