Pray For Her Arms

Guys have you ever asked God to bless the things that your wife touches, works on, or prepares for your family? In Proverbs 31:10-31 the writer, King Lemuel, spoke of a capable wife. In verse 17 it states:

17 She draws on her strength
and reveals that her arms are strong.
(Proverbs 31:17 HCSB)

Now personally I am not looking for my wife to wake up one day and flex and remind me of Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I do want my wife to have strong arms to do what is needed in the house. My wife makes the bread for the house. Over the years she has built up a set of nice firm arms from kneading dough each week. She let me try it one week and I quickly returned that task back to her and thank her for the work that she does. Working on her jobs around the house has shown its fruits of strength in my wife.

Then over in Colossians, Paul writes that

23 Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men,
(Colossians 3:23 HCSB)

The things that your wife does for you in your house or abroad for those in need, should be done with enthusiasm and as though they are done for God. My wife is one who will pour all that she is into a project. Sometimes to the point of losing herself in the project and forgetting the rest of the world exist. When times like that arise, I should step in and help her to see things to completion. Our wives are wired different that men and the see things different as well. Don’t discourage the enthusiasm that they have for projects unless you want a wife who has no wish to do anything at all.

Men, we need to pray for God to gird our wife with strength, making her arms strong and firm. Pray that He would bless the work of her hands and that she would do her work cheerfully as unto Him!

Next time guys we will be talking about praying for your wife’s heart!

Till next time…
